MEDICAL DEVICE MANUFACTURING FACILITIES,
BECTON DICKENSON / C.R. BARD
This project involved the front end design, construction management and project supervision of a Grade D (ISO Class 8) Cleanroom for an indigenous medical device company in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford.
In order to fit the new cleanrooms within the existing facility an enabling works contract involving the construction of a new circulation route had to be completed in the first instance. The enabling works contract was critical to ensuring that any possible disruption to manufacturing during the construction works could be minimised.
O’Leary Sludds Architects managed and coordinated the phased projects which was constructed by a leading international cleanroom construction company.
The design of the cleanroom fit-out was difficult due to the building constraints and in particular the existing floor to ceiling heights available. These constraints were overcome by using an air sock around the perimeter of the room in lieu of more traditional mechanical ductwork.
