Ramsfort Housing

Affordable Homes Scheme, Ramsfort Park, Gorey, Co. Wexford

This project at Ramsfort Park, Gorey, is an Affordable Homes Scheme delivered for Wexford County Council through the Design and Build procurement method. The development comprises 20 no. 3-bedroom family homes, providing high-quality, affordable housing within an established residential setting.

The architectural approach focuses on delivering durable, well-proportioned homes that respond positively to their context while meeting the requirements of cost certainty, programme efficiency and long-term sustainability. The homes are arranged in a cohesive layout that promotes a strong sense of place, with clear street frontage, overlooked public spaces and generous private rear gardens.

A simple and robust architectural language has been adopted, using traditional forms, pitched roofs and a restrained palette of materials. This approach ensures the development integrates comfortably with the surrounding neighbourhood while remaining economical to construct and maintain.

Pedestrian movement, safety and accessibility were key considerations in the design, with legible routes, traffic-calmed streets and shared green areas contributing to a family-friendly environment. Landscaping and boundary treatments further reinforce the residential character of the scheme and enhance amenity for residents.

The scheme was officially opened on 16 January 2026 by An Taoiseach Michael Martin and the Minister for Housing, James Browne, marking an important milestone in the delivery of affordable housing in Gorey and the wider County Wexford area.
